Guiherand Granges, a small town in France, witnessed an extraordinary event during the "Heart Cosplayers Convention". Movie enthusiasts were left in awe as the renowned British actor, John Rhys-Davies, 79, known for his iconic roles as "Sallah" in three Indiana Jones films and "Gimli the Dwarf" in the Lord of the Rings trilogy, graced the occasion. What made this encounter truly exceptional was seeing Rhys-Davies proudly carrying the flag of the local "Caillette Brotherhood" after being inducted by the grand master of the guild, (caillette is Pork meatball with greens, spices, and optional additions, shaped by hand and wrapped in caul fat). The next day, the actor willingly embraced the customs of another guild, that of "Saint Peray," a local white wine.
Fans of Indiana Jones will eagerly anticipate Rhys-Davies' return in the fifth installment of the franchise, hitting theaters on June 28th.
Surprisingly approachable, John Rhys-Davies went above and beyond to meet the expectations of his fans, posing for countless photos and signing autographs throughout the two-day event. His presence was made possible by his close friendship with Jean-Louis Sénèque, co-organizer of the convention and president-founder of the "Magic Universe of Cosplay" association.

"I have pledged to promote the grandeur of this esteemed guild, of which I am now an initiate, as well as to showcase the cuisine of this region and even the cuisine of France!" concluded John Rhys-Davies after indulging in caillette and Saint Peray wine.
The convergence of a famous actor with local culinary traditions in a modest French town has left cinema lovers and food enthusiasts amazed. The unforgettable weekend in Guiherand Granges will forever be etched in the memories of those lucky enough to witness this extraordinary event.
